Verde que te quiero verde... 07/16/2010
The mountains surrounding Jamaica's capital city, Kingston are a lush green; greener than usual for our summer and made greener by the light summer rains. And when I sit on the verandahs of Neita's Nest and look out at the various shades of green which our mountain view offers it is the most calming place in the world for me. Whether it is a misty morning, a brightly lit noon, a rainy afternoon or a moon lit night, it is a sight to behold. It reminds me of Frederico Garcia Lorca's Romance Sonambulo which begins "Verde que te quiero verde..." or as the English translation goes, "Green, how I want you green, Green wind, Green branches..."
